There's an old brick building on Alexander in a seedy part of town

When the sun goes down and the bars let out, you wouldn't wanna hang around

So lock your car, and grab your keys, and follow me upstairs

What do you think that it'll be like when you're there?

What is this place, full of so many wonders, casting a spell that I am now under,

Where deadlines loom, and ideas bloom before they're tossed asunder.

And the coffee's not that great, but be prepared to stay up late

'Cause the work on this two-parter--Well it's hardly gonna wait.

First it's written, then it's boarded, and it's thumbnailed and it's sorted--

a kaleidoscope of images and sound

With a flash they come to life, spit and polish--always nice

Don't forget you've got two weeks to get this right.

CHORUS:

If there's a portal to Equestria, then it overlooks the park,

Where a dozen different people are still working after dark

And the stories come from Burbank, but they live within our hearts

If you watch it and you love it then they know they've done their part.

Match the voices with the pacing, paint by numbers, clock is racing

Can you please just let me fix this one last thing?

But time and tide--they won't abide, let's move this show along,

'Cause you know you gotta make those ponies sing!

If those below could hear the music. All those people passing by.

What they don't know, what they don't feel, what they don't realize--

They don't know how it could change their lives.

CHORUS:

If there's a portal to Equestria, then it overlooks the park,

Where a dozen different people are still working after dark.

And the stories come from Burbank, but they live within our hearts

If you watch it and you love it then they know they've done their part.

And memories of the Cul-de-sac still haunt these hallowed halls,

Where pastel-colored ponies smile and dance across the walls.

With their Cintiqs all aglow, well I'm sure they'd love to know,

That their efforts weren't wasted on some second-rate kid's show.

So have a bite at Deacon's Corner--hell I hear they've got good fries.

To walk the line, between Ponyville and Gastown, all you have to do is close your eyes.

There's a portal to Equestria, and it overlooks the park,

Where a dozen different people are still working after dark.

And the stories come from Burbank, but they live within our hearts

If you watch it and you love it then they know they've done their part.

So give them kudos, write them fanmail--do whatever floats your boat

But remember that they're just like you, with all their dreams and hopes
