Soo... now that the song's in WIP, I guess I should finish it.
Well, I intended to work on this long ago, but was actually kinda darn busy over the past month and just threw a rough timing into /limbo. But yeah, working on it now.

Yes, I know, yet I overlooked that background because it's practically all text (same issue as discussed here).
Anyways, I guess it works, now that it's cropped a fair bit and doesn't overlap with any interfaces. Well, at least in USDX.

I'd like to point out that with multiple players, the notes take up the whole screen height. I can imagine it might be distracting having words behind them, so rather no text in the upper part of the background either.

(By the way, USDX crops videos and stretches backgrounds. Of course, other programs might work differently.)

Been working on the song slowly but steadily, but apparently I forgot to update progress. Anyway, I'm about done, moved song back to /WIP.

song.mp3 is the remastered version. It doesn't exactly match instrumental.mp3, so there's still an instrumental_timing_track.mp3 to help with checking/tweaking the instrumental.

Wouldn't be the first non-brony song. More like a brownie song. *ba dum tss*

So yeah, I don't think it's a bad suggestion, as there's already non-pony stuff from Tara Strong, Hey Ocean, Littlest Pet Shop, All Levels at Once, etc..
That being said, having unrelated songs doesn't really justify adding more of those. I'd say there's a line here that needs to be drawn.

Crisp and gorgeous art as ever :) Although I'm not sure about having text in the background. Especially at the bottom, where it's gonna be behind the lyrics.

The song is supposedly non-free (on a charity album), but the composer gave permission to use the song.

Guess I found my next project here! Although I'll have to think which files to use, now that we have the original, the original instrumental, a remaster (not matching instrumental), acoustic and extended acoustic versions.

I should think that having an instrumental is the top priority. Maybe, if it's not too much of an effort, I'll then re-sync the file to have the remaster as the vocal version.
The "acoustic" versions are really nice, but I'll just ignore them; we don't need a gazillion variations of the song.

Right, I expected as much- maybe I'll just put together a quick and ugly version. Anyone singing this shouldn't be hitting much notes anyways :)

We can't easily change folder names once the songs are releases, due to the way we handle incremental upgrades (it would make the process needlessly complicated). This includes capitalisation, with Linux and OSX having case-sensitive filesystems.

The lower pitched ones don't match. Now again this could just be me not hitting the right notes. So if someone else could check that out that would be awesome. I play on normal on this song, haven't dared try hard. :c

I think you're right about that, the line should go more like G-C-G-C-G-C-H. Also, some other pitches seem off (e.g. beats 122, 232, 271, 349...).

I guess the musical artist of Children of the Night should be credited alongside the animator, just like how it's done with Don't Mine at Night.

Yup, that exists already. Although it maybe wasn't mentioned on this thread.

So the video description says that the "backing track is a blend of the original and MysteriousBronie's version." It figures that the show version's karaoke file has the same tempo and pitch, and can be applied to this song with just tiny corrections. I'll check that out someday.

Update: Audio is in the cloud, along with lyrics, near-correct pitch and not-that-correct sync (edited from the show version file). Finishing up later.

PS. Noticed that the left channel is slightly louder, even though both channels are similarly normalized. Probably unnoticeable through speakers, but slightly annoying when working with headphones. There're lossless versions available on bandcamp if someone wants to try some mastering magic.

I'll go over the song, probably gonna fix a million little things here and there... Removing the overlap's no problem.
And lyrics.nfo was just what I'd thrown into USC - corrected lyrics, maybe some syllabification. In case USC crashes or something. Wasn't really supposed to sync it, though.
