I love this one, nice work - just fixed 3 early line breaks :)

This must've been hard to do! I've split all the notes that were two or more syllables combined into separate ones.

I think there was one note in this one that was two syllables combined - I've now separated them. Seems fine otherwise!

Sorry, I didn't contribute to this thread when I joined - I promise I'm not a spammer!  :P

I did yes - I just updated the .txt and not the .txt~ files - hope this was the right thing to do?
#26
Ironed out the overlaps on this one too :)
#27
Slightly adjusted the Fluttershy one to stop some line breaks appearing prematurely :)
#28
Very good .txt though! Just made some slight adjustments with the line breaks and note lengths.

I've made some (very slight) amendments to this by changing the position of the line breaks so that they don't occur too early. Good .txt other than those minor things though  :)

I think this problem has occurred because line breaks have been set to "interrupt" notes. That is, they occur before the note has had chance to finish.

The easiest way (that I know of) to fix this is to load up the songs using the ChallengeMod edition of USDX (http://ultrastardx.sourceforge.net/usdx-downloads/usdx/). Both this and the normal edition of USDX create an "error" file in the main US directory when the songs have been loaded, detailing issues with the songs. However, only the ChallengeMod will give you handy hints like this:

23) Note length error in sentence 2, on beat 161 in song c:\Program Files (x86)\UltraStar Deluxe\Songs\My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic\Cutie Mark Crusaders\notes.txt

This means that I need to go to open up the text file and find beat 161:

: 161 6 27 crowd
- 166 167
: 180 3 34 Lis

The reason that the .txt file has errored is because the line break is set to appear at beat 166, but the "crowd" syllable lasts from beat 161 up to (and including) 166 (it lasts for 6 beats from 161). The line break has thus "interrupted" the syllable and it will finish early.

The file will also tell you if notes overlap, giving you a chance to solve the problem.

I'll happily set to work on tweaking these files, but thought it would be handy to post the solution anyway!

Let me know if this isn't the case.

Hiya

Stumbled across this project after seeing that you'd linked to my blog - the idea of having MLP:FIM songs on UltraStar is beyond awesome.  :)

Creating duet songs doesn't require anything extra special. You basically just need to divide the lyrics into 2 lots (one for one singing part and one for the other), paste one under the other in a .txt file, then add "P1" above the first set of lyrics and "P2" above the second set of lyrics. If you're using a version of UltraStar that supports duet mode, then a little icon will appear on the song on the selection screen with two microphones crossed over.

If you search for "duet songs" in the edition field in USDB, you'll find some examples as to how the .txt files are layed out. However, the "P1" and "P2" tags need adding manually, as the site doesn't support these lines and they are deleted automatically when a duet song is uploaded.

The one thing that sets duet songs apart from normal songs is the fact that different lyrics or notes can overlap in places. Bearing that in mind, it's good to set out with the intention of making a duet song (if it's appropriate), as you can "fine tune" both sets of lyrics. It's then not much work to make a "normal" version of the same song.

As far as I'm aware, there's no way to create songs with more than two parts - it would be a bit "messy" to try and incorporate too many set of lyrics on the screen. You never know though, the UltraStar/Vocaluxe development always surprises me!
