This is one of my favorite songs for whenever I'm feeling a bit dark.  If I can learn how to work Composer a little better, I might do this one sometime.  Don't expect perfection from me yet though, or even timely progress.

This doesn't really tell us much, especially as how there are two brony songs by that exact same name that don't sound anything like each other.

You have the original version, complete with PMV here:

And then you have dBPony's song, which is completely and utterly nonrelated:

So, just which version are you asking for?

Seems like a worthwhile venture, especially with the singing prowess of Big Macintosh.  He's needed something more to say for a while, and this is just the perfect way to get it to work.  Pinkie Pie will prove to be a surprise though, and it leaves me theorising about the upcoming season.

Indeed.  It's not common enough to worry about anyways.

I can understand that.  It truly is an odd case, as the checksum matches up and I had no previous Ultrastar installation to interfere.  I guess we may never know exactly why it doesn't work properly on my computer, but it's not too problematic as the missing files can be copied over manually without too much trouble.

I mean, a fix would be nice for any other odd cases where some of the files didn't copy properly, but it's not really a priority fix unless the problem could be specifically pinpointed, which it hasn't yet.

Issues and bug reports / Just a worn mic
July 21, 2013, 05:01:28 PM
I already know this is just a worn mic.  It used to work almost perfectly, and it's only been recently when I've been dealing with all these issues, even on Skype (where I've never had issues before with it).  I have had it for a few years, so it's not that unexpected, to be honest.

And yes, it does just cut out completely.  Yet another sign of a bad mic, although turning up the recording volume helps a little.

Edit: Just noticed this was moved to a new topic.  Confused me for a little bit there with that move, but it will be a fitting place for others with mic troubles.

Edit 2: As if I needed any proof that its the mic, I took a sample recording:

The first line is a high-quality mic I "borrowed" from my father.  It records nearly perfectly, and doesn't clip (unless I were to shout in it, which I didn't record).
The second line is my normal, rather old mic.  How I got over 9000 on Easy with this is remarkable, considering all the times it cuts out and then randomly clips.
The third line is a backup mic I had, but hadn't used in a while.  Almost anything will make it clip, which is bad in terms of pitch detection.

You're both correct.  My release didn't have this song in it, and so I had to install it manually from here.  I know, I checked the game files thoroughly.  Actually, hold on a sec...

*sounds of ruffling in computer files*

Okay.  Something is really botched up here.  The .iso has what looks like every available song pack to-date, and yet I was missing the entirety of Community Pack 4, the Foreign/Bonus pack, all 3 seasons of Official songs, Lullaby for a Princess, and both themes when I installed it.  I guess your installer really doesn't like me.

http://www.mylittlekaraoke.com/forum/index.php/topic,461.0.html may be relevant to this issue, as it also contains me trying to figure out why those things didn't get installed properly.  The current blame lies on either 64 bit Windows 7 or my computer in general.

As it is, I'm gonna have to get a new mic for it to be really worth it (even if my parents were away.  My brother doesn't mind it, but my parents would have a cow).  It's hard enough to sing in tune, and even harder to do so when screaming into the mic so that it'll pick you up maybe 2/3 of the time.  It just cuts out too much.

I'm not stupid enough to do that.  I could clearly tell that it was copying files over, important for any installation.  Besides, this is 64 bit Windows 7, not Windows 8.  For all I know, it works fine on 64 bit Windows 8 but not Windows 7.  I can check if it's just my computer though.  I do dual boot Linux Mint after all.  If it installs properly there, it's probably the 64 bit Windows 7.  If it doesn't, it's probably my computer specifically that is the problem.

Also, looking back at things, it also didn't install any of Community Pack 4, any of the Foreign/Bonus songs, any of the Official songs, or Lullaby for a Princess.  It almost seems like the installer just gave up mid-way, to be honest.

Easy really is pretty lenient then.  I currently average somewhere around 8550 on Easy, and that really isn't too bad considering my equipment.

As it is, I may just livestream some of it and post links to the recorded streams.  It'll be easier to do, and you get to see what's hitting and missing the mark as well as hear my (less than) wonderful voice.  Of course I'll need a new mic first.  Mine is just a step away from becoming silent forever.

Well, this is a song I was looking for specifically.  Now to wait 'till the coast is clear.

So I decided to do a cold recording of Cerulean Blue: http://picosong.com/RbYG/ How did I do?
Just what was your score for that?  This leaves me curious.

Anyways, I'm intent on recording a few songs for your (possible) enjoyment, most likely some of the FiW stuff, as well as some of Forest Rain's music.  Man, do I love Forest Rain's songs (and that's not counting that my top 3 scores are all on his songs).  This assumes I can figure out how to record both the speakers and the mic at the same time using Audacity.  It's befuddling me.

And yet, it obviously didn't on my computer.  Either my computer and the computer of HeroOfTimeLords are oddball machines, 64 bit Windows 7 doesn't like the installer, or the error lies in the installer itself.  The fact that it doesn't seem to be common more or less points towards one of the first 2, either making the issue with our specific computers or with 64 bit Windows 7.

This is a problem I've likewise encountered, and I've fortunately found a workaround, and the problem.

I looked around in the Themes folder just after I installed it directly, and I saw a single theme folder named Deluxe.  The funny thing about this folder?  It's empty.  I even took a screenshot of the empty Deluxe folder, as well as the Themes folder itself and posted them to Imgur.

As you can see, the themes are most definitely missing when you run the installer.  Fortunately, the files are all in the .iso, so it's not too difficult to just copy the theme folder from the .iso over.  It really makes me wonder why the installer seems to be missing the themes when it copies over all the files.  It's a bit odd to say the least.
