Welcome! / Re: Hi and tnx

You're welcome  ;D.

I'm glad you've come here to tell us how much you enjoy the MLK experience. Especially considering it sparked your interest in singing - and probably the discovery of a new talent of yours. Which is really great.

I, personally, am very happy to hear all that.

Additionally (and I think I can speak also for Smilley in this case): Welcome new challenger! Guess I have to start playing again to keep my scores up  ;)

I don't think there is such a thing as too much of an activity you really love to do, as long as it makes you happy.

So in your case, no, I don't think this is too much.

Your SoCal Ponytones group sounds like an awesome thing to participate in. And the provided performance sounds pretty good to me. We're trying to get something similar up in Germany but to no avail yet.

Same goes for the Masters of Harmony. I myself have joined a choir this year and absolutely love the experience.

Being in the MLK team, I might even relate to your enthusiasm about karaoke ;).

I deleted the unfinished version, since I have to remake it with the midi file. Though if you want to do it, I'll just put the midi and the mp3 in.
#44
That should do it, thank you very much  :)

Rapping parts are intentionally left without a singing bar, since you can't really sing a rap, i.e. there's no real pitch you can reproduce.

The only song with Mic singing in MLK is "No Chance", the collab song with dbPony.

@Haymaker: If you have some kind of music sheets for your vocals, it'd be really helpful.  :)

The fix is already in Owncloud, if I'm not mistaken. Just needs to be put in DL, which is Renard's task , who's been busy afaik.

Taking it on. Loving the challenge :P.

You don't need any converter - just download the file from Bandcamp, and pick MP3 CBR 320kpbs in the list.

Wow thank you. I didn't even know about that ::), now I can continue making songs  ;D

Fixed some timing issues. Uploaded on Owncloud. Thanks to Gladanos for pointing it out.

Neat song for Duet Mode. Would be wise to ask permission first. I'd do it myself, but I'm not able to edit duet songs on my laptop.

Lyrics:
Save me, I'm drowning so deep in the darkness.
I'm waiting for your touch to stop this.
There's smoke blinding us with goodbyes.
And I
keep hope. 'Cause this feeling's different and I know,
I've staggered so long that it can't go.
Alleviate me, I'll be fine.
In time.

Please remember that I miss you.
Young and reckless, what did we do?
Broken promise, gone forever.
Maybe one day we'll get better.
Right by your side, that's where I'll be.
In a heart beat if you ask me.
Let's stay strangers like we're meant to.
Oh, I wonder if you miss me too.

Find me, I'm waiting right here where you left me.
Still shredded and bruised, but I'm breathing.
Be brave for me, ignore their eyes.
Just try.
We're dancers, and I've picked petals looking for answers,
and I've received these edges from chances.
Indelible, but I'll be fine.
In time.

Please remember that I miss you.
Not caring is so hard to do.
Everything we loved together,
it's not the same without you there.
Feels like you were just beside me.
How did time go by so quickly?
Now we're strangers, but I miss you.
Oh, I wonder if you miss me too.

(Woah-oh-ohoh) x4

[Scratch21]
Please remember, don't forget me.
I'll be leaving this heart empty.
Burn our bridge, are you still there?
All these endless circles do nothing.
And I don't know, why I can't just let you go.
Can we go back? Can we start again?
Because I need you.
Oh, I wonder if you need me too.

[EileMonty]
Please remember, I still think of you and I.
Tell me what does this all mean?
Are you even still there?
These circles do nothing.
And remember, I've been waiting.
Ever since this started aching.
Now we're strangers, but I need you.
Oh, I wonder if you need me too.

Suggested Artwork by Toasted Gloves:

Notes done and uploaded to Owncloud. I let other people decide over the artwork.

/bump. Requested again.

Made a fix for it, since it was one halftone off-key. I'll upload it on Owncloud.

Uploaded on Owncloud. I want someone who knows a bit about country pop music to go over it again, since I'm not quite certain with some pitches. It just sounds a bit weird to me.

Actually, there is already a internal discussion about keeping the devscores out of the online highscores altogether. It is clear that there exists an unfair advantage for file creators. It might still take some time to work out a convenient solution. After all, this is a beta release and not the end product.

In the meanwhile, I want you to understand our point in singing these songs we created. We are creating files of songs we particularly like to sing and therefore also like to perform on these songs in MLK. This is even more true for community songs than official songs, I imagine. And we also like to see our scores listed on the scoreboard, at least I know that I do.

I ultimately believe that a decent enough singer can outperform the file creator, albeit it might take him/her several tries and practice runs. A file creator just has a little headstart.  :)

That aside, I still agree with you that the developer/file creator scores should be omitted from the normal scoreboard. Maybe just leave them as a benchmark for singers, a "beat the file creator"- challenge, if you will.

I still wish you luck in beating the scores. After all, that's the beauty of the online scoreboard. You'll never run out of competition.

I'm on it, testing should be done next week.

A classic.

Song and Instrumental done and up on Owncloud. I let someone else decide over cover art and video.

As always, feel free to test it, I faded some notes out due to early page breaks and in one case simply because I couldn't hear it. (It's a game [...]).

Agreeing with Smilley on that. To me, this song isn't high priority either.

Song is VBR and needs to be converted.

One thing, though: VBR to CBR encoding is bad, really bad.
You loose a lot of quality while possibly even enlarging the actual file.
If you are serious about your song, always go for the original .wav, .flac and then re-encode it yourself to mp3 CBR. (For the HQ releases I would go for 320kbit/s, for the low-res ones for mp3 192kbit/s).

I wait on someone who knows what to do.
