todo before this can be released for MLK, aside from whatever magic and checks Renard already does:
- rename one of the video files to video.mp4 (or recode your own from the source material, see the readme + extract.sh)
- create mp3, or ogg, or whatever because right now it's using wav
- where a sentence starts with "One" and it's an A# in the editor, I'm really unsure whether that's A# or A. It might actually vary throughout the song? Idk.

Disclaimer, I'm not (or at least, not as far as I know lol) an MLK staff, but I'm pretty sure their response will be the same.

Not neglected, I want these as well. However, so far I haven't seen a good 1080p version (or at least 720p) that doesn't have a horrible bitrate. This is insanely easy to observe in any scene that has confetti. I also prefer for it not to have Hub logos etc.

I know that there is a DVD out of this nowadays, but that immediately poses two problems:
One: it's only 576p
Two: usually, DVD's are around 4% sped up compared to how the creators intended it to be. This is very noticeable in any scene where Pinkie talks.

I haven't seen a Blu-Ray of this, nor an iTunes (or other high quality web service, ie not Netflix) that has Rainbow Roadtrip.

I get, like, ~9700 on Medium, around ~8000 on Hard, so I can't really improve this .txt any further without overoptimizing it for just myself.

Todo:
- if a sentence starts with a short semi-unsaid syllable (like "To") I'm not 100% sure on the first note. It will almost certainly be either C, D#, F or perhaps even G.
- maybe add some golden notes
- the youtube video is absolutely ruined by youtube's encoding, so I didn't bother to include that. It's essentially just a pan of https://derpibooru.org/1304982 so if we really want that as a video, it shouldn't be too hard to write up some imagemagick+ffmpeg script to do that.

a very important thing that absolutely need to be fixed before this can be released!
Use a high quality mp3. The one I used is the "free" one from bandcamp (128kbps, used youtube-dl) but it needed some adjustments to time it right with the video:
- cut 0.272 seconds from the beginning of the file (it's just some silence)
- added 3.55 seconds of silence to the end, so that the video doesn't cut off at a weird place
Assuming the High Quality Bandcamp things (mp3 or flac, doesn't matter) are exactly (4:01.737 according to mpv) the same length, just change lines 5-10 in fix.sh and run the script. Alternatively, please send me a HQ Bandcamp flac/mp3 and I'll do the adjustments and then reupload.
Update 2019-12-13: it now comes with a HQ file. Redownload it from the link above.

Other things that you might want to pay special attention to:
- the video is 1080p (not 720p), but the bitrate is really low
- golden notes (I didn't add any)

I'm not sure if the proper thing is to reply here, or to make a new topic with the same name in the "Feedback for Released things" sections, since it appears most of the time the topic gets moved?), but in the duet.txt version (and only in that version) there are two consecutive linebreaks at 3469 and 3497.

I don't know if empty sentences like this are a 'feature' of USDX; I know you can do "- 3469 3497" if you just want the lyrics to not show up for a while (another one of those features that apparently exists...)

I have not tested if this actually causes USDX to crash or whatever when it encounters it, though as far as I'm aware, this is (one of) the only song in MLK that has this.

There is a file glimglam.txt. I'm not sure if this is meant to be a singable Starlight-only version, or a leftover developer version (there is a difference between instglim.mp3 and instrumental.mp3, but Trixie is not very clear in instglim.mp3, so I'm not really sure).

Either way, the glimglam.txt still has duet tags, which the rest of the file is very clearly not.

In both the duet version (duet.txt) as well as the regular version (notes.txt) there is a linebreak at 1841 that might need to be moved (I don't know how USDX handles these) because they might cut off the current sentence. It can be moved to something like 2600 or something.

NB: these fixes are only for songs that, once downloaded and unpacked, end up in the 'Community' folder. Aka, they are all for older songs, before songs could be downloaded individually.

Also, two additional fixes for official songs (aka, songs that are in the 'Official' directory, things that came later via Downloads will be done separately, or perhaps as another reply on this topic):

• There is an instrumtal.txt for This Is Our Big Night (EQG), but there is no instrumental.mp3
• The regular S6E08 Hearth's Warming Eve Is Here Once Again references song_new.mp3 which does not exist. There is a song.mp3 though. Ie ingame, there is only the instrumental

currently, the game isn't able to find the background file, which just looks weird.

For some reason there's no thread about this, but there is an entire section missing from this song Przewalski's Ponies - Derpy? After 2:30 there's still:
- a "Wooo-hooo!" at 2:38
- at 2:45 the refrain comes on again, only a few lines

Must-do:
- There's no official title for this, so I just named it 'Carols' for now
- Audio still needs to be normalized (it's very low volume)
