This song is already released (thanks Renard!), but I had a suggestion. The "Love You" section has 64 "love you"s in a row, and they are all on their own lines. This makes the notes scroll by very quickly. There's also no visual cue for the pitches, as each line is centered in roughly the same position on the screen. Maybe it would be better to group the "love you"s by fours (or even eights)? I think it would make the section easier to sing. For reference, the section is at 2:01:

Another movie soundtrack song. This one is beautiful and majestic. Too bad they didn't get to use it in the actual movie.

Since the cloud is still down, I've included the finished notes.txt below. I'll look for art when it's back up, or someone else can do that if they want. If we want a video, I could reuse the clip I made for We Got the Beat, since this song was supposed to be used in the movie's intro. Or, we could just have art.

Finally, this song was released in 2018, but the movie came out in 2017. I put the year as 2017, since it was probably made then, but it can be changed to 2018 if that's better.

Since this song from the movie's intro wasn't released in the soundtrack, I've transcribed it.

Notes:

  • I think the final three notes (the very high "we got it!") are wrong. But they're too high for me sing, so I can't check them. It would be great to get some feedback on this.
  • There isn't an instrumental because the vocals are spread throughout the channels. So, there's no easy way for me to remove them without ruining the sound quality.
  • Some people call this song "Ponies Got the Beat," but the wiki and Daniel Ingram both refer to it as "We Got the Beat." That's also the original title of the song, so it's what I went with.

Files are in the WIP folder in the cloud.

I finally got around to transcribing this song. Strangely, I found it pretty difficult. So, I'm leaving a WIP in the cloud for someone else to pick up and finish.

My thoughts:

  • I'm pretty sure the pitches are right, but the timings are probably way off. I tried to shorten the notes to make it easier to sing (aiming for the nucleus and trimming off noisy consonants), but Pinkie talks so fast that there isn't much to shorten. If anything, I might have just made the notes more inaccurate.
  • The audio and video are from a Yayponies rip. I'm not sure if that's the standard, but it seems to work fine. For the instrumental, I just muted the channel with the vocals (center I think?). There are still vocals left over, but I don't know how to remove them completely.
  • I couldn't find much art, so for now there's no cover or background.

Again, this is pretty WIP. I suppose I kind of lost motivation, but at least I finished the basic pitches and timing. I'm happy to let anyone else pick this up and finish it.

Is there any reason this short song was never included? (Since Piece of Cake made it in, I assume it wasn't because of length). If there's no reason against not including it, I'd be happy to transcribe it.

This song has been requested in the past, and is one of my all-time favorites, so I'm glad that it's done!

There are only a few things I want to note:

  • Vocal chops: I originally put in all of the vocal chops--which was too much. I then took out most of them except for the ones listed in the original lyrics. Most of the chops are okay, except for two:

    • "Get nervous, get nervous"
    • "I don't want second"
The notes on both of these sound a little weird (the first more than the second). Of course, they're auto-tuned samples, so they aren't really "pitchy". It would be good to get some feedback on whether the piches are right or not, though.
  • Glissando/portamento: Metajoker does a lot of pitch slides with his singing. Rather than make a bunch of freestyle notes, my strategy was to break such notes into two or three pieces, and shorten them so the actual glide happens between the notes. Hopefully this is okay.
  • Lyric changing: This is pretty minor, but I changed the lyrics from "pushing on till I fly, on till I fly" to "pushing until I fly, until I fly." I think "until" just makes more sense than "on till." (also, the actual sample is "I'm telling", so we can both be right.) I also changed each "better be a" to "better be" because you almost can't hear it, and it's easier to sing.

The completed song is up on the OwnCloud. (There's also some old files in the Limbo folder which can be removed.) I used the same image for cover and background art because that's what Metajoker & Respin did. The video is JuiceboxAlvin's SFM.

Finally, I don't know if anyone else cares, but I like reading the "lyrics" to vocal chops. Here are all the transcribed lyrics I cut from the song. It was fun listening to the individual samples from Respin's Live project to write them down.

Hi!

This is my first song, so hopefully I got everything right.

I think it's pretty good, but I do have a few concerns:
1. I tried to avoid fricative consonants by cutting notes short (I think it was suggested somewhere). This makes it easier to sing, but when playing it in the editor, the clicks seem to not line up. Hopefully this is okay.
2. I'm not always sure when to end long notes, as they can trail off for a while.
3. I'm not sure if the last three notes in  "Toge~ther we'll" should all be the same note. It sounds like that to me, but maybe the "~" should be moved up a semitone?

Anyways, it's in the WIP folder on the cloud (I don't have permission to move it to QA). It's completely finished, so feedback would be appreciated!
